Planning your wedding can feel overwhelming, but don’t worry, the Clandeboye Lodge Wedding Team is here to guide you every step of the way. We’ve put together answers to some of the most frequently asked questions, with insights from Ian, Gia, Lorraine and Kirsty.
1. Do you have a one wedding per day policy?
Yes, we do! We believe in making your wedding day as special as possible. Our One Wedding Per Day promise ensures you are the only wedding at Clandeboye Lodge on that day. Please note, there may be a lunch or dinner event in the events building, but these would be in a separate suite. If you want exclusive use of the building, we can make it happen – talk to us!
2. Do you have any last-minute wedding dates available?
Absolutely! If you're eager to say "I do," we always have a few last-minute wedding dates available within the next 6 months. Our dedicated wedding team is happy to explore options with you. And for a stress-free planning experience, consider our Swept Away whirlwind wedding package, which takes all the stress out of planning your wedding!
3. How many bedrooms are there at Clandeboye Lodge? Can we stay the night before?
Clandeboye Lodge has 41 bedrooms, so be sure to book early to avoid missing out. And yes, the wedding party can stay the night before! Our new Dressing Room Suite offers a luxurious retreat with spacious elegance and impeccable design. Bathed in natural daylight, this suite features bespoke handcrafted furnishings, a dedicated vanity area and a private outdoor terrace. Ideal for those pre-wedding moments with your bridal party!
4. Do you cater for large weddings?
Yes! Our stunning, spacious Clandeboye Suite is perfect if you have a large guest list. This adaptable suite comfortably accommodates receptions between 120 to 300+ guests. With its cool neutrals, elegant panelling and eclectic art collection it makes for an unforgettable wedding celebration.
5. Can my dog attend the wedding ceremony?
Yes, we welcome dogs at the ceremony and drinks reception. We ask that your furry friend is picked up before the meal begins to ensure all guests can enjoy the dining experience.
6. Can I have an outdoor ceremony?
Clandeboye Lodge offers the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding ceremony in Northern Ireland within our beautifully landscaped gardens. Should the weather not cooperate, we have a backup plan to host your ceremony inside, with space for up to 150 guests in our Blackwood Suite or another suitable suite, depending on availability.
7. Do you allow confetti or sparklers?
While we don't allow confetti, we absolutely love sparklers! They add a magical touch to your wedding photos, especially in our Sheridan Suite courtyard area with its bespoke fire pit. To ensure safety, we ask that sparklers are used with a metal bucket filled with sand and a few pairs of gloves.
8. What can I add to the wedding suites? Can I add fairy lights to the ceiling and candles down the aisle?
While our wedding suites are stunning as they are and don't require additional decor, we understand you may want to add your personal touch. If you wish to enhance the space further, you can certainly add fairy lights and candles. For safety, candles must be fully enclosed, such as in lanterns.
Our all-inclusive wedding packages with accommodation already provide everything you need to create a beautiful atmosphere, including a choice of coloured table linens and terrace storm lamps with ivory candles and a natural wooden base as centrepieces on your guest tables. 9. How long can we hold a wedding date for? How much is the deposit?
We can hold your wedding date provisionally for 2 weeks. After that, the deposit schedule is as follows:
- First deposit: £750 within 2 weeks of booking
- Second deposit: £750, 3 months later
- Third deposit: 50% of the contract total, 1 year before the wedding
- Final balance 3 days before the wedding
10. Do you offer a wedding menu tasting?
Yes! Our wedding menu tasting allows you to sample a variety of dishes to help you choose your favourites for the big day. The tasting is priced per person, and our team will provide details on the cost at the time of booking. All dishes must be pre-ordered.
